Optional selfie verification

Understand the photo-match badge and use the live check when it is available in your app.

Last reviewed

Selfie verification is optional. A badge indicates a live selfie check matched the primary profile photo under the service’s checks. It is not legal identity, age, background, or safety verification. A badge is not a reason to ignore normal safety precautions.

Start a check

These steps apply to app versions that offer Get Verified in Settings. If the control is missing, update through your store. Availability also depends on the service being enabled; the website’s preview alone is not a release announcement.

  1. Open Settings, then Get Verified.
  2. Read the explanation and face-data privacy information.
  3. Choose Start live selfie check and follow the consent and camera instructions.
  4. Keep your face visible with steady lighting and wait for the result.

Use your own current primary profile photo. Do not submit someone else’s image or try to evade the live check.

Remove or renew verification

The verification screen offers Remove my verification when applicable; confirm with Remove badge. It may offer Verify again for a new check. Review any expiry shown in the app. Changing the primary photo can require a new match.

Camera or matching problems

Allow camera access in the browser or system prompt used by the check. Check your connection and try in even lighting without covering your face. If the session expires, start a fresh check. A failed result does not establish anyone’s identity or intent.

Read Privacy Policy Section 7A for authoritative face-data processing and retention information. Contact support if the check keeps failing; do not send selfie footage or identity documents unless a specific justified request is made.
