1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include:
- pixels and web beacons;
- mobile SDKs;
- local storage; and
- device identifiers such as IDFA and GAID.
These tools can support security, functionality, analytics, and attribution.

3. Optional Website Analytics
Our public website offers an Analytics preferences control. If you allow analytics, we record public page paths, a coarse acquisition source (such as Google or Instagram), approved campaign and creative codes, feature-section exposure, public navigation and call-to-action clicks, and app-store clicks with button placement. We do not collect raw URL queries, authentication links, emails, messages, or private profile details in this pipeline.
The first-party chunkr_acquisition cookie contains a random secret, is inaccessible to page scripts, and lasts up to 30 days after activity. We store your analytics choice in chunkr_marketing_consent_v2 in browser local storage until you change or clear it. Private and authentication pages do not initialize website marketing analytics.
Declining analytics does not prevent downloads or account access. Withdrawing website consent stops collection and requests deletion of the associated acquisition records. PostHog deletion is queued for retry and processed asynchronously, including a follow-up request for delayed ingestion. If requesting deletion fails while offline, the control provides a retry. Browser storage deletion alone does not request server deletion; use Analytics preferences before clearing storage.
4. App Attribution and Analytics
Where supported, an optional short-lived link or Google Play install referrer connects a consented website visit to a new account. These links carry a random token, not an email or authentication credential. Account-level attribution requires the app analytics setting to allow it. App Store campaign reporting is aggregate and does not identify a Chunkr account.
The mobile app uses PostHog for optional product analytics controlled by Share Usage Analytics. Expo Insights provides native app usage measurement. Existing operational records used to provide and protect Chunkr remain separate from optional marketing attribution. See the Privacy Policy for broader app data practices.
PostHog uses an opaque account identifier and coarse screen/feature events. It does not collect session recordings; automatic GeoIP enrichment is disabled. Expo Insights provides App usage analytics using a pseudonymous installation ID, app launches, OS and app version, without a Chunkr account identifier.

Withdrawing app analytics consent removes linked acquisition records. Account deletion also removes those links and associated acquisition history. Website PostHog identifiers expire after 90 days. We automatically queue deletion of their events, with a follow-up request for delayed ingestion; provider deletion is asynchronous and failed requests are retried. Later visits use a new identifier. Removing the associated website visitor record also requests deletion. These retention periods describe the acquisition pipeline, not all account or operational data.
6. Providers for This Pipeline
Supabase stores first-party acquisition records. Vercel hosts the website. Google Search Console and App Store Connect supply aggregate performance reports. With your website analytics consent, our server forwards these sanitized website events to PostHog using a random website visitor identifier. No visitor IP address, raw URL query, private page, or session recording is sent. Website and app identities remain separate in PostHog; the first-party acquisition report connects supported consented journeys. We do not forward these events to advertising platforms. Mobile product analytics are controlled separately.
6A. Mobile Ads and Subscription SDKs
Where mobile advertising is enabled, Google AdMob uses SDKs and may use device identifiers or storage to deliver and measure ads, limit frequency, and prevent fraud. Chunkr requests non-personalized ads; that does not eliminate identifier processing or applicable consent requirements. The app checks Google's consent platform before requesting ads. Settings → Ad privacy choices is available when required by that platform. Browser cookie controls and website analytics consent do not manage mobile ad choices.
RevenueCat supports store-purchase validation and restoration using account-linked purchase records and subscription state. An active Chunkr Ad-Free subscription suppresses new ad requests and presentation, but does not disable billing processing or change separate analytics preferences. 7. Managing Your Preferences
Website Controls
Most browsers allow you to:
- block all cookies;
- block third-party cookies;
- clear existing cookies;
- clear local storage; and
- receive alerts when cookies are set.

Where required by law, we will request consent before setting non-essential cookies. If you reject them, the core site should still work, but analytics and attribution features may not run.
Mobile Controls
- iOS and Android both offer advertising and tracking controls at the operating-system level.
- Some app-level tracking choices may also be offered in settings when applicable.

9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Chunkr does not currently rely on legacy browser Do Not Track signals because there is no consistent industry standard for them.
Where required by law, we are working to recognize Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as opt-out requests for selling or sharing, even though we do not sell personal data.
10. California Residents
Under CCPA / CPRA:
- we do not sell personal information as defined by California law;
- we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising without an appropriate legal basis; and
- California residents may exercise privacy rights as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Children
Chunkr is intended only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly deploy tracking technologies for anyone under 18.
12. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice to reflect changes in our technology, providers, practices, or legal obligations. Material changes may be announced through the website or app.
Continued use of Chunkr after an update means you accept the revised Notice.
